ABOUT THE SHOW

Vasco Rossi, also known simply as Vasco, is an Italian singer-songwriter. He is considered one of the greatest exponents of Italian rock music. Since the beginning of his career in 1977, he has released 33 albums, including 17 in studio, 11 live and 5 official collections, as well as two EPs and an audiovisual work; altogether he wrote 182 songs, as well as having written numerous lyrics and music for other performers. He has sold almost 40 million records and has been one of the most successful Italian artists since the early 1980s. He is also the first Italian artist by number of copies sold in the decade from 2010 to 2019. In particular, with the albums Vivere o niente and Sono innocente, the rocker earned the first place in the ranking of best-selling albums in Italy respectively. from 2011 and 2014. Rolling Stone Italia magazine considers his album Bollicine and his song Siamo solo noi respectively the best Italian record ever and the best Italian rock song ever, while the song Albachiara was voted as the Italian song most loved from 1975 to 2020 in the I Love my Radio radio competition.

In the eighties, the unruly lifestyle characterized by alcohol, drugs, women and continuous frenetic tours, bring Vasco Rossi closer to the stereotype of the rock star, who has become, over time, a real icon.

In his career he has performed in more than 800 concerts, and holds the world record for paying spectators in a single concert (225 173 at Modena Park 2017).

He is credited with having been the protagonist of a real musical revolution: his songs bring back sociological and existentialist themes, seasoned with a singular expressive style, which has also influenced the spoken language.

His work has earned him numerous awards, including the National Prize of "Il Paroliere" for the song Every time in 1982, the Targa Tenco for the best 1998 album with Songs for me, the Lunezia Prize as Poet of Rock for the song How old are you in 1999, the Silver Ribbon for the best original song for A Sense and the honorary degree in Communication Sciences at the IULM in Milan in 2005, the Fernanda Pivano Prize in 2006, the Nettuno d'oro and the Tenco Award for Career in 2020.

Circo Massimo

The Circus Maximus is an ancient Roman circus 600 meters long and 140 meters wide.
Located in Rome in the valley between the Palatine and the Aventine, it is remembered as a venue for games since the beginning of the history of the city. Certainly the large flat area and its proximity to the Tiber landing where commercial exchanges took place from the remotest antiquity, meant that the place constituted since the foundation of the city the elective space in which to conduct market activities and exchanges with other populations, and - consequently - also the related ritual and socialization activities, such as games and competitions.
Today it is used as a venue for numerous sporting, artistic and cultural events.
